What We Evaluated
Every design was printed in Shore 95A TPU (for vibration isolation) and PETG (for rigidity comparison) and tested for: camera unit fit precision (no rattle, no need for foam padding), angle retention under 5G simulated manoeuvres on a jig, surface finish on the camera-contact surfaces, and crash survival in 10 drop tests from 1.5 metres onto concrete.
The best mounts used TPU for vibration isolation but maintained tight tolerances — looser than PETG equivalent tolerances to account for Shore hardness compression. This is the key tuning variable in camera mount design.
DJI O3 30° TPU Mount by Mellow_FPV Best Overall
This community design from Printables.com is the best DJI O3 mount we tested. The 30° wedge angle suits most FPV freestyle flying styles, and the TPU geometry — specifically the recessed camera pocket with compression-fit sides — holds the O3 unit with zero rattle at full vibration while providing genuine impact absorption. Printed in 95A TPU with 4 perimeters and 60% gyroid infill.

Polymaker TPU95 (for printing this mount)
- Print this mount in TPU95A for vibration isolation — PETG transmits motor noise
- 30° angle suits fast freestyle and most general FPV flying styles
- Compression-fit side walls hold O3 without foam padding
- Free STL available on Printables.com — search 'O3 30 TPU Mellow'
- Print at 220°C, 4 perimeters, 60% gyroid, direct drive extruder

O3 25° PETG Rigid Mount Low Angle Pick
For racing and technical flying where precise horizon reference matters more than vibration isolation, a rigid PETG 25° mount is preferable. The lower angle gives a cleaner horizon for gate threading. The PETG formulation we recommend is Bambu Lab PETG — consistent, stiff, and dimensionally accurate enough to hold O3 unit tolerances without play.
PETG // Rigid Mount Material
Bambu Lab PETG
- Best dimensional accuracy of any PETG tested — holds camera mount tolerances
- Use for rigid 25° mounts where angle precision matters over vibration isolation
- 230–250°C, no enclosure required, PEI bed adhesion
- 1kg spools — economical for printing multiple mount iterations

Walksnail Avatar HD Mount Walksnail Pick
The Walksnail Avatar HD unit has different dimensions from the DJI O3, requiring its own mount design. The community Walksnail mounts we tested were fewer in number but the best one — a 25° dual-material design using PETG for the main body and TPU for the camera contact surfaces — delivered excellent results for cinematic FPV applications.
TPU // Walksnail Avatar Mount Material
Polymaker TPU95 (for Walksnail mount)
- Print Walksnail mount contact surfaces in TPU for vibration isolation
- Use PETG for main mount body for dimensional rigidity
- 25° angle ideal for cinematic and smooth-flying applications
- Free STL available on Printables.com — search 'Walksnail 25 PETG TPU'

Print Settings for Camera Mounts
For TPU mounts: direct drive extruder required, 20–25 mm/s print speed, 4 perimeters, 60% gyroid infill, 220°C. For PETG mounts: standard settings, 4+ perimeters, 40% infill minimum, 230°C. The most critical dimension to get right is the camera unit pocket — print a single-wall test ring of the camera slot before committing to a full mount.
